Jorge G. Cossío

Jorge G. Cossío is a Mechanical and Electrical Engineer, with a specialization in Industrial Engineering from the University of Mexico.

Mr. Cossío took graduate studies from the Universidad Iberoamericana and the Universidad de las Américas in Systems Engineering and Business Administration.

At the beginning of his career Mr. Cossio hold executive positions in the textile and automotive industry as a director of manufacturing plants.

He started his own consulting firm. As a director of his firm Mr. Cossío has been involved in many different projects for productivity and quality improvement on behalf of the firm clients.

The companies consulted are on the automotive, ceramics, hospital and services industries.

Most of the projects, applying Industrial Engineering to improve the performance of the organizations with an emphasis in process re-engineering.

The solutions provided by Mr. Cossío, are applied on a national basis for some of the corporations in the automotive industry and in the health sector.

In the academic field, Mr. Cossío has been for ten years a professor of the Universidad de México and the Universidad Anahuac teaching industrial engineering subjects. Also, is a collaborator for the publishing of the book Modern Construction: Lean Project Delivery and Integrated Practices written by Dr. Lincoln Forbes edited by CRC Press. Mr. Cossio published some abstracts for the Lean Construction implementation practices, applied in different projects.

During the last 18 years, Mr. Cossío has been Director of the consulting firm ITN de México, S.A. de C.V. engaged in a series of construction projects implementing Lean Construction methodologies in the construction industry.

Mr. Cossio is an active member of the Lean Construction Institute and the Institute of Industrial Engineers.
